A previous thread dealing this is already extent, but as it didn't really provide a resolution, I am starting a new one.
When I try to run Betrayal at Krondor, I get a message telling me: "You have 344464 bytes free... You do not have enough memory to run Betrayal at Krondor. Try using the Make Boot disk option from INSTALL." The error message occurs in Dosbox when I try to run the Kronodor.exe file. I tried loadfix, but I get the same message with, of course, a smaller number of bytes free.
I have 2800+ AMD Athlon XP Processor, 80 GB hard drive, 512 MB DDR SDRAM, Radeon 9200 video card (128 MB DDR, AGP 8x/4x), and (I think ) NVidia NForce sound card. I am running XP and have Dosbox-0.63.
I have tried things suggested in several threads, such as making both XMS/EMS (or either one) false, changing my system to svga, and changing the memsize. These did not change my error message. (And yes, I restarted Dosbox after each change, and have tried every conceivable combination of the above changes.) I am not really that technical, but I can make my way around if someone tells me what to change to fix this error. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
