Hi guys
I went to the local car boot sale today, and found a few goodies going cheap

One is a Creative CT6940 AGP card which appears to be a Creative Geforce 256 Annihilator. It has the ESMT ram chips - is that 32Mb SDRAM?

Anyway that one fires up when i put it in my AGP rig and seems to be working fine though i didn't load the drivers yet, it has a replacement fan and I just need to attach that a bit better before I test it properly. Other than the fan it's in good condition, bit of a bargain for 4 euros?

From same guy I also got this P6BAT-A+ motherboard, slot 1 and socket 370. Only 5 euros but unfortunately missing the IO shield. I suspect it is working but have no CPU to test that with right now. Gonna try pick up a cheap celeron or something like that from ebay. It's worth me keeping a compatible CPU for when I find more of these boards

Got three complete PCs too for 15 euro each but haven't had a good look at them yet. Ones a P4 socket 478, the second some sort of AMD, and the last one is newer, an 13 or 15 or something like that most likely.

I'm well pleased on finding that Geforce 256 - here's some pics

The P6BAT-A+ looks like it uses a bog standard ATX sheild. Many cases come with them and you can easily get them on ebay.

Ahh thanks
It's this one

I always thought they were specific to the mobo.

Yeah, that is it.

Earlier ATX boards tried to follow a standard layout, before each manufacturer decided to go their own way and just provide the backplate with the motherboard.

Couple of examples that should work for you.

Thanks
I'm in the UK and in Spain (depending which residence I'm living at the time). But I can have a look on ebay.co.uk or ebay,es

The 'some sort of AMD' tower I picked up today is an ABIT KV7 , Socket 462 Motherboard, 1Gb RAM, 60Gb IDE HD, Geforce FX 5200 AGP. The bios says AMD XP 1350 MHz CPU when booting. This one seems to be working fine, and it was cheap enough. I got a very similar spec Sempron a few weeks ago.
