Ditto, have a Slot A board and CPU, just need to prep a new BIOS chip and ghetto rig a heatsink on the K7 chip. (it has the metal shroud for the heatsink but not the heatsink itself.

"Enter at your own peril, past the bolted door..."
Main PC: i5 3470, GB B75M-D3H, 16GB RAM, 2x1TB
98SE : P3 650, Soyo SY-6BA+IV, 384MB RAM, 80GB

Ya have a spare Slot 1 heatsink handy? They are pretty compatible, at least the 3rd party stuff. Worst case maybe swap the entire slot 1 cartridge onto the slot a cpu and adapt it to work, usually it seems to be locations for cache that differ.

Main pc: Asus ROG 17. R9 5900HX, RTX 3070m, 16gb ddr4 3200, 1tb NVME.
Retro PC: Soyo P4S Dragon, 3gb ddr 266, 120gb Maxtor, Geforce Fx 5950 Ultra, SB Live! 5.1

Woaw, does using a slot 1 casing work? I didn't know that, and I do have a P3 450MHz Katmai casing I could use.

Hi, the prices are outrageous on ebay. If you get locally and 1GHz K7 and sell it on ebay you get rich. I got my K7 from a good friend here in the forum about 2 years ago.
The damn build is like an oven... Very hot...
