I am talking about the one mentioned in version 1.6. Some "touchy" stuff was presented there that sounded like this "I want everybody who appreciates Tomb Raider to be able to use Glidos, independently of their financial situation". Knowing that the creator is a fan too, where is that "solidarity" (as I would like to call it) he expressed in that sentence? And that equality between the fans (from weekly pocket money to seven figure salary)? It is all down the drain now as he got blinded by money. And it gets even worse as he tries to get dough out of a '96 game. Wake up, that is just lame. "Glidos is free. You do not have to pay anything to anybody in order to use Glidos" quickly changed into "Make my pockets fat if you want to run that game properly on your PC". He has to have in mind that (for one reason or another) some people are not able to purchase his product. I just happen to be one of them.

Where did those quotes come from? Did you make them up?

Anyway it would not help you if I released Glidos for free as it wouldn't run properly on your $9 computer.

Results are as expected i don't know why am "I" bothering. I leave you in your own ignorance don't bother replying because i won't visit this forum again. You probably gain some money out of this too so...
And by the way the only quote i made up is "make my pockets..." you should review your previous work.

So because you're not able to purchase this software, it should be free?

Wake up, Looka. Che Guevara is dead. And Glidos is cheap.

You don't have the bucks for it? Save them, it's easy. Stop smoking. Stop buying useless paper magazines. Stop wasting your dough in your Hello Kitty mobile. Stop surfing the web on your broadband connection, you filthy capitalist.

And stop this non-sense about the Tomb Raider Woodstock Spirit. You don't know what you're talking about.

Alright now i know i said you won't find me here again but i've came back to say i'm sorry this time. So here it goes: I apologize for saying those things about you but i was very angry at that time, mainly on the fact that those previous versions (at least 1.6) of your soft were released free (and they included that speach that i swear i haven't invented). I don't have anything against you i know that you are a great programmer if you were able to do a thing like glidos (great stuff) i was just very mad at that point i hope you understand me. It's your choice if you sell the program or you give it for free. So keep on doing that great work that you do.

I guess i'm the lame one now coming here and saying stuff like that but i just felt that i have to do it.

So we cool?

Yeah, no problem. We've all been there. And I understand how frustrating it is for people in countries that PayPal don't support. Always looking for ways around it.

I remember reading the message from the early version of Glidos V1.7.....
for any who are interested (nostalgia?), here is a copy of what was printed when clicking the "Support the Glidos project" button on the Glidos application:

Please read this once, and then get back to enjoying Tomb Raider.

Glidos is free. You do not have to pay anything to anybody in order to use Glidos. This is important because I want everybody who appreciates Tomb Raider to be able to use Glidos, independently of their financial situation (from weekly pocket money to seven figure salary).

But there are substancial costs involved in the development and support of Glidos. The greatest cost is due to my line of work being contracting for an hourly rate. When I work on Glidos I lose money. That's my choice of course, I'm not complaining - it's rewarding work, but the cost does severely restrict the time I can give to it.

If you like Glidos, and you'd like to help, then make a donation to support further development. I'm thinking along the lines of 10ukp (or 15usd), less if that seems a lot to you. If you would like to make a donation, send a cheque, payable to "Laser Point Software Ltd", to:

Laser Point Software Ltd

If you do not want to make a donation, then that's fine too

Yes, well I did change my mind. Guess how many donations I had!

When I swapped to selling it, I thought there might be a chance of making enough from it to live off for a while, and that would give me sufficient time to develop other such things.

Now actually finding the income is pretty miniscule, I'm tempted at times to make it free, but then the small amount I get back from it does give me some justification for losing contracting time to it.

I think you are right to sell it.
You work hard on it and give out excellent support.
A few ££ is justifiable and anybody who thinks it is not does not really deserve to have it.

There is nothing else like Glidos, be proud of it and sell it for what it is worth and that is a lot more than you currently sell it for 😉
