Hi
a new version of Dream's 5x128 soundbank is available for DreamBlaster X2 and X3M
You can find the files here : http://serdaco.com/downloads/X2/X2_SoundbankP … k/?dir=GM/Dream
Compared to previous version, the new version adds the MT-32 default sound map support :
http://serdaco.com/downloads/X2/X2_SoundbankP … BK5X128_203.pdf
This is a similar map to what S2 support, so it should work with the softMPU /MT32 command line switch 😀
(see pdw's branch : https://github.com/pdewacht/softmpu )

This should work fine with games that use MT-32 default instruments.
I found this small list of 'mt-32 default map' games : https://minirevver.weebly.com/mt-32-music.html

Leisure Suit Larry 2
Legend of Kyrandia 1 (except for one instrument)
King's Quest IV, Budokan
Ultima VI
Bad Blood
Simon the Sorcerer
Loom
Monkey Island 1
Dune
KGB/Conspiracy
Legend Entertainment games: Spellcasting 101: Sorcerers Get All The Girls
Spellcasting 201: The Sorcerer's Appliance
Timequest
Gateway
Spellcasting 301: Spring Break
Eric the Unready
Gateway 2 - Homeworld
Companions of Xanth
Death Gate
Superhero League of Hoboken

is this list complete ?

I don't know about the list but this update is great even if it is for these games only 😀

Besides the new MT-32 compatible bank v203 also changed the default Fingered Bass and Picked Bass instruments (now called Fingered J-Bass and Picked Bass 1 respectively). The old instruments are available at new variation banks and also 2 new Fingered and Picked Bass added. They made an error in the PDF specification related the Program Change numbers of the new/old Bass instruments in variation banks 1/2 since they used 0 based numbers while in other cases they consequently used 1 based numbers...

I have attached the new Dreamblaster X2/X3M instrument definition (ins) file that includes the new v203 banks. They can be used in DAWs and in FSMP.

I have also attached a SysEx file that can be used in FSMP and also in other Windows software to switch Dreamblaster X2/X3M into MT-32 compatible mode (actually it can be also used in DOS to achieve the same result as using SoftMPU MT-32 mode).

First I would like to say that it's great to see development on that great device and it's surrounding software. I was trying old game with midi music tonigh using the buran 44mb soundbank. Kyrandia was feeling out of place with that soundbank. So I searched for mt32 compatible .dxb and found this thread. It help alot improving the music quality of that game and I now enjoy listening to it. But I cannot help but to think the midi "sound effects" are wrong. Car Horn sound when Brandon knock on the faded wooden face on the wall of his grandfather wooden house, really ? I have a true mt32 on another computer in the basement and I will check it out another day. I think they might have some decent soundfx as they seem to upload a sysex at the game boot. Maybe I overlooked a step ? I uploaded the GMBK5X128_203.DXB to the dreamblaster x2 on a awe32 then loaded the game specifying mt32-lapc soundcard.

This is not enough. It will not work unless you switch your Dreamblaster to MT-32 mode. Your game will not do this since it expects a native MT-32. Here's one of my posts form another thread. At the end of the post you will find an attachment called GMGSMT32.zip and also instructions how to enable MT-32 mode:
