"Critical Error: Abort, Retry, Ignore, Fail?"
It's displayed in abnormally big letters... This happened after I uninstalled my old VDMS 2.0.4 installation and installed 2.1. It didn't work before on 2.0.4, mostly because I couldn't figure much out without the good ol' GUI (dunno why that wasn't included/didn't work in 2.0.4). I had System Shock working on my old HDD, on a much older VDMS version of a build that I do not know... and now I get this junk after following a tutorial on getting SS to work on Win2000/XP systems, which is the one I followed before to success. Before I installed the new version, at least I was able to get to SShock's REAL error screen with "Salt the Fries" and all.
I edited CDSHOCK.BAT to have the correct paths to all the extra files it needed (NOLFB.COM, MOUSE2KV.EXE, DOS4GW.EXE), made a compatibility shortcut with all of the necessary memory emulation(?) junk in there and ran CDSHOCK.BAT with VDMS, and set up everything from there...
Please help?
