Nope, hate it.

"Nope, hate it."
That's why.
Should be a fun thread. I don't think I have any thing that fancy. I'm more a beigh/black/grey kind a guy 😀

Of course, as always, I'm open to correction...😉

Eh, I'd take this over the contemporaneous design fad for rubberised plastic. I've got an old Flip video camera that looks like I store it in a vaccum cleaner bag.

From fun to Grinch-thread... 😁
I do hate anything to do with apple, but I might have something else. I'll check if I can find it when I get back home in few days.

I'll take 2000s colored plastic any day over 2010s "tactical"/truck/meat-head design language, but thankfully that seems to have died off already. Unfortunately it's getting replaced with hyper corporate "Apple store" knockoffery instead, but that's full-circle isn't it?

ATI tape measure 😁
Nice, I love that acrylic case with the green & blue CCFL stuff inside. Makes me want to go to a psytrance rave.
There was one of those (cases, empty) for sale locally not long ago, I should've bought it.
Props for the ATI tape measure too. Classic swag is always a win in my book.

Well let's see... Howzabout my 1999 iMac G3 lime green DV (the iLime), nah wait you've already beat me to that 🙁 anyways I'll try to snatch some pics of it.

I love (colored) transparent plastic ~
I added the LEDs in the controllers myself a long time ago when I was still in my teens 🤣

Jeez. That wouldn't look out of place controlling the sentry guns in Aliens. 🤣

@Tiido: I love everything about that. I didn't even know they made a translucent DC shell. Your LED mods look great, too.
My Dreamcast is yellow, but not because it was originally built that way. 😜
What's on the 240p test suite disc?

I thought translucent plastic, like everything else around the turn of the millenium, sucked. With the exception of a green replacement cover for my TI 89 calculator, I think I managed to totally avoid it.

I really liked transparent things. I believe the trend started somewhen with the N64, but I saw such shiny things before.
There was that purple/whit calaculator in my calculater collection that was acrylic, too.
In an old Mickey Mouse magazine from the collection of my father, there was prize competition which showed a Loewe Me-16 TV in transparent casing.
Around the 2000s, there also was this cool Linux PDA, an Agenda V3, also in awesome transparent housing!

To me, acrylic designs always had something futuristic and hopeful to them.
In TV series and films, such a Space 1999, transparent stuff always represented futuristic technolog ("Journey to Where" ?)
Anyway, back to topic. I also have got an ibook and several acessories in translucent desgin. 😀
Also, translucent lamps, cassette recorder, joysticks, soldering iron, acrylic plastic boxes for electronics parts and so on..

The yellow shell is an aftermarket thing, but controllers were made in various colors.
All my white Dreamcasts turned yellow in the closet, but unfortunately not quite the yellow I am after 🤣

While it's not as nice as Xjas' G3 (mine is quite dusty inside, and I can't fathom how to open it up without breaking it), here goes. My 1999 iMac G3/400 DV Lime Green slot-loader (aka "iLime")

Sorry, I went from light grey/beige ('80s to '90s) to silver metallic (2000s) to black (2005+).
I don't even have any RGB stuff on my new gear. 😊
