For whatever reason I'm interested in getting some WWI type flying games for my XP rig. I choose this PC 2002-2005 era for
better graphics but have only tracked down one so far - First Eagles: Great War 1918. Already checked out Red Baron 3D
and Crimson Skies but nah, want better "eye candy". Anyone have any in mind?

Only one I can think of is Flying Corps Gold. Not sure if the visuals would be up to what you are looking for though.

Flying Corps Gold uses a game engine from 1996. It was badly dated by 2002.

Is this too much voodoo?

Wings Over Flanders Fields uses a modified MS Combat Flight Sim 3 engine and looks pretty good. Oh, and you need CFS3 to install the whole thing. Other than that, your only option is Rise Of Flight, but to me it's more about the physics engine and graphics and less about "being there" experience.

edit: Just to make it clear, neither of these were available in that time frame, but for WW1 sims you are SOOL in that regard.
