I was able to buy Star Tech's heavy duty port saver cable, VGAEXTAA6IN, as of about 3 years ago. With this cable, I see practically no loss in signal quality. Unfortunately, they are no longer available. Anyone know of a suitable low loss replacement?
This is the one I'm referring to.

I also have a cable that is lower gauge, and looks something like the overpriced cables on eBay, e.g. https://www.ebay.com/itm/153621397014 and https://www.ebay.com/itm/233239531262 , but you can really start to see significant signal decline, especially when running higher resolutions, or when your standard display adapter isn't the sharpest display like a Matrox. These small gauge cables seem to amplify imperfections in less prestine display adapters.
So I'm looking for something beefy like what Star Tech used to sell. I have two of them setup in systems now and the display, even at 1280x1024 is prestine on a Matrox. Obviously, the disadvantage of port saver cables when used as a 3dfx pass though cable is that one of the cable ends needs to be screwed in from inside the case.
Plan your life wisely, you'll be dead before you know it.
