i seem to be having trofble running this game, Zed. vereything works fine up until i start to play the lvls. it says "missing critical file: Main.pac" even thought the file is there and is also on the cd that mount also...

1.motherboard: dunno
2.processor: intel pentium 4, 2.26 GHz
3.ram: 768 MB, RD Rambus
4.Videocard: GeForce 4 MX 420 64 MB
5.soundcard: TurtleBeach Santa Cruz(tm)
6: OS: Windows XP Pro w/ service pack 2
7:game name: ZED, by Virgin Interactive Entertainment
8:Problem: game wont go on when starting to play the lvls. error msg:"missing critical file: Main.pac". even thought the file is in the folder of the game and also on the cd.
9:reproducibility: always same problem
10:sound mode: dunno what you mean
11:video mode: SVGA
12:version of emulator: dunno what you mean
13:Readme: did read but did not resolve the problem
14:DOSBox version: 0.63

What commands did you use exactly? I mean from the moment you launched DOSBox until the moment you launched the game?

i used mount c c:\ to mount my Hard Drive, mount e e:\ to mount my cd drive which contains the cd for the game. then i just went to the folder of the game and ran the game using the file z.bat..

You could try specifying -t cdrom when mounting the cd drive. eg.
mount e: e:\ -t cdrom

If that doesn't help - did you install the game using dosbox, and did you mount stuff the same when running the game as per the install?

MOD28: You said it didn't find the file.
I suspect that if you try: mount d e:\ (instead of "mount e e:\")
It will work.

mount d e:\ -t cdrom (just in case).
