The Chinese junk is usable if you have a memory tester to weed out the bad ones.

Will the Chinese sellers actually give you a partial refund for the faulty ones they send you?

I would love to max out all my boards that will take 1MB L2 cache.. or 512KB for the PCI boards that only have 1/2 the sockets.

When money is not a problem I will make 10ns 32KB and 128KB cache modules using modern parts that go into normal DIP28/32 sockets. I have PCBs and connectors, just not the memory chips.

I've recently ordered ISSI branded 128K x 8 chips on eBay.

3 out 10 were bad. Got a partial refund.

Oops sorry wrong link. Looks like either Ebay from china of thru Aliexpress. There are 10ns, 12ns and 15ns but not sure how good they are. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32274986746.html. I have 3 -486 boards that can use the 32pin but they are already fully populated with 28pin, and they are all three PcChip M912/Amptron dx6900's with real cache 🤣.

Interesting. Those say TAIWAN on the bottom. I haven't seen this on the Chinese reproduction 128kx8 chips yet.
