Hi!

At install from WC1 I get an error message (see attachment).
Copying all files to hd is OK, but converting doesn't work.
The game run's, but I think it will crash when it needs "SHIP.V17" where the converting errror occurs.

Could anybody help me?

did you try it with other versions of dosbox as well ?

yes. same error. I tried several configs concerning cycles, ram, sound, etc.
I have no idea why.

Sounds like you've simply got a bad disk there. You should try a different WC version.

Yesterday I've tried it with v0.65. Same error (see my new attachments) with installation aborted.

@Xelasarg:
Copying all files is successfull. But converting "Ship.v17" (Disk1) ends in error.
[DON'T ASK ABOUT DISKS/GAME FILES AGAIN]

Why don't you try Google to find an abandonware site that offers WC for download?
I mean, you own the original game, so I guess downloading a working version wouldn't really be illegal.

huh. I don't remember seeing being allowed to download "abandonware" in a game's EULA before.....

OK! I've downloaded a runable version of WC1 from abandonware.

There is no worry about "illegal" for me. I'm the owner of the orig version from 1990 on three 5.25" disks, with orig. packaging, flightplans and c/o no.
