Hi. I'm unable to independently vary the music and speech/effects volumes in Tomb Raider using the options within the game. In fact, those option settings don't seem to do anything at all -- I can crank them both down to "1" and there's no change. In the Glidos options, I'm running full-screen, 1280x1024, with a slightly bumped-up gamma.

I think I've read all the basics on both VDMSound and Glidos, but I haven't seen mention of an issue like this. Anyone else? I'm one of those unfortunates with a Glidos logo from the get-go, but following the excellent advice on the web page I don't want to register Glidos until I'm sure things are working well.

Thanks in advance! Let me know if I've omitted anything crucial below.

Pentium 4, 2.4GHz
512Mb RAM
NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX400
Realtek AC'97 Audio
Windows XP SP2
VDMSound 2.0.4
Glidos 1.32.0.1

Those controls not working is to be expected, and is not a sign of a problem. If you are using audio packs then you probably will be unable to adjust those separately. Otherwise footsteps and gun fire come out as digital audio, and background from the CD, which your sound card will provide adjustment for.

Thanks for the rapid response -- sorry I didn't write back. Sometimes just knowing it won't work is nice!
