Hope you don't mind the exaggerating title... 😀
After playing around with DOS for weeks now - I want to complete my dual system with Windows 98. It should run as stable as possible. It is used almost only for games - maybe I will try watching movies later. My machine is not connected to the internet. I am using a SSD with sata to ide adapter and a floppy emulator.
Until now I have good experiences with following order:
Fresh install of Windows 98
Installing chipset driver
Installing DirectX 7a
Installing Nvidia driver
Installing NUSB driver
Installing SP3 from creopard
Installing tuneup97 - perform recommended tweaks
I would leave it as it is - but amongst others I found the 982ME killer replacements. And maybe there is more... don't know if that's a good choice (system is running, no errors, no lags)
What is a really good stable and fast Windows 98 SE Software setup?
