Dosbox .65 will not load

i can't get Dosbox .65 to load the 1st error i got was " exit to error: Can't init SDL Direct Input Create: Undefined error" So i reinstalled Direct x 9 and Dosbox .65.
But now when i click on to run dosbox to run the window just flashes for a couple seconds and closes. HELP !

if your running the sdl port i cant help you... tell us what version [sdl, windows, linux etc.] your using and what your system specs are.

I have windows XP no joysticks I am not sure what SDL files i have.
Nvidia Geforce4 Ti 4200 (gateway) Intel (R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.53 GHZ.

i decided to reload windows xp again and this time i got Dosbox .65 to work.
