Hello all,
Waiting for my dual s370 board to deal with, destiny made me acquire an HP PC Pavilion, in perfect shape (dust apart, tons of).
There is a ms-6577 ver2.1 motherboard on it.(p4, agp, microatx).
Trying to max it out and unlock its bios I found this thread on bios mods:
https://www.bios-mods.com/forum/Thread-MS-6577-v3-26

Not sure what to do tough. Does anyone have more expertise with it?
I would try to install a mobile 478 p4 if I the bios has proper microcodes update.

Thanks

Your BIOS link says they unlocked settings. Nothing about adding microcode.
It's an OEM only board and HP wouldn't have added microcode for CPUs they didn't support in it.
The manual says it's Williamette and Northwood only so even unlocked there aren't likely any settings for P4-M voltages.
I think a P4-M is out and the best it will take is a P4 2.8G Northwood.
I had something close to that in an office for a few years. It was fine for GP system.

Thank you for the answer.
Actually tge best it can take is a P4 3.06ghz HT 533.
Nevertheless I really would like at least to use this unlock bios.
Any advice on how to do it?

Looks right. I sorted my list and lost that one.

My BIOS modding has been limited to SLIC-Mods so I don't have enough experience to be advising that part.
The instructions in your link look pretty good.
Might help to also search under the HP model number for the system it came in.
