I recently tracked down a bunch of drivers that have been otherwise expunged off the internet on this site. Finding them was not easy, and currently this is the only source as far as I know. I'd like to upload them to Vogonsdrivers, but I'm pretty cautious about submitting stuff that didn't come from a source I trust... Do any of you have experience with this site? Are these 'clean'?

Here's an example:
http://ulub.pl/IdQSC9irbc/ecs-a535-vga-a535-f … sewindows-me-10

(For non-Polish speakers: click the big 'pobierz program' button to download.)

I don't SEE any indication that the files have been tampered with, but who knows. The main .zip filename is changed when you download it, but the site lists the original filename in the description (verified against an archive.org copy of ECS's support site - which unfortunately links to their old FTP which never got archived) and the dates and times of the extracted files all match up. Win7 Defender doesn't find anything, but that's the only AV I have installed & it's not the greatest.

I hunted these down when I was watching one of the bespoke laptop models on Ebay. I didn't end up winning the auction, so I'm not gonna be able to test them myself, but happy to upload them to help others out.

I don't know Ulbu.pl specifically. Of course, it's really hard to prove any site is "safe", since any can have bad files added to them. We can only really say when a site has earned a bad reputation.

However as small help, there are useful online checkers

I listen to SANS podcast as part of my morning commute. I've noticed that Virustotal is kind of a standard reference when these guys are talking about new exploits. Virustotal usually detects new stuff within a day, sometimes two, so that tells me it's an active project.
