Running dosbox.65

DosBox doesn't support LPT. Until it does your always going to get that error message unless the DosBox devs decide not to show the error to the user. You can also disable the DosBox cosole yourself if it bothers you.

it stalls the game so its un playable though. even though i got it to play on a different machine before

In CVS a dummy LPT1 was added, maybe it helps.

can i get the CVS compile? i searched but didnt see anything.

i slowed it down, and an error in the window said that there would be a problem with write cacheing when written to the disk.. so I'm not exactly sure what that means error 8 or so..

it says:

An Error has occured please contact the Author
Some possible problems can occur when write caching is enabled.
DO NOT us write caching ON with your Disk caching software
Errorcode = 8
Address 0:2003

I've tried using the CVS code that I download but that didn't do me any good, still got this same error.

What can I do to get it to work?

in the other window it also says

CPU:GRP5 Illegal Call 7

it never gets in the game. The CVS build doesnt help either

well that last error means dosbox executed rubbish
so something is going wrong. it might be fixable, it might not.
probably you can't do a thing about it though.

Although you could try
loadfix -d
before starting the game (and increase memory)
error 8 means insufficient memory
