So, I ordered a copy of Half-Life on eBay and I wanted to try out it's splendid A3D support, but as you know, modern systems don't exactly support this. So, due to this, I'm asking what would be the best option in emulating A3D on a modern, Windows 10 system?

Trying to find answer for this very question and testing available implementations made me stop wasting time on this and build actual system with real Aureal Vortex card instead.
Available solutions (like http://www.worknd.ru/) don't work properly and sound really weird.

Building a system for my needs would likely go way over any budget I could have.

Some non-Aureal cards and chipsets support the A3D API, like the AudioPCI and Sensaura IIRC. PCem can also emulate the AudioPCI 128 and use the drivers to play early A3D games with the A3D spatialization, and I've played through Half-Life that way.
