Ok. First of all, I am experiencing the rare "Sticky PgUp/9 Key" problem, wherein the numberpad 9 key does not respond well to key presses ingame. The PgUp key works fine, but not the 9/PgUp key.

I wanted to try to keymap around this issue, however I cannot get the game to recognize the keymapper shortcuts.

Yes, I am using the keymapper correctly. In the dosbox command line, the keymapper is giving double presses. For instance, I mapped the M key onto the N key, and pressing the N key results in "nm" on the command line.

However, ingame I can't get the WASDQE keys to function as L-R-U-D-PgUp-Home keys.

I've tried deleting all the "binds" so that the keys only perform one function, and I have allowed them to be both functions. Neither case works.

Any help?

This is the only patch I have found. I don't recall whether I tested it or not. I think it will not fix the keyboard issues but it would be worth a try.

PS. Confirmed. My EOB2 was already patched to 1.1 - So this patch isn't going to help with the keyboard issues.

I figured it out!

I was able to remap the QWEASD keys to act as LRUD-TR-TL

The way it worked for me was to map each key to a single function, and not to leave any key blank. For instance, I wanted W to be Up. So, I mapped W to Up, deleted W, mapped Up to W and deleted Up. Now Up is W and W is Up and it works ingame. Same for E to PgUp and PgUp to E.

By the way, EoB II considers PgUp and Home to be Turn Right and Turn Left, in addition to 7 and 9. I mapped E to PgUp, just in case the problem is with 9 and not PgUp.

Also, the problem occured not only in DosBox, but also in the bare executable run straight through Windows double click.

Of course, this makes it annoying to type "start" and "quit" while in dosbox, but that's much less annoying than the turn right problem, or using the Home-PgUp-Mouse Buttons ingame.

If I turn off numlock and re-launch eob2 in dosbox it responds fine for me.

Well done. I decided to play through Eye 1 and 2. Eye 1 was fine, but I also had the keyboard problem with Eye 2. In the end I chose to use the mouse to move around, it worked, sort of.. but I'm glad somebody found the solution to this problem. I couldn't get into Eye 3 though, got stuck on the lever problem.. Maybe I'll go back to it. Good games though.
