Not sure if it counts for anything here but, I'm streaming Gunmetal by Mad Gernius Software circa 1998 on Twitch. Here's the video archive of the first stream.

I try to stream on Twitch around 12:00 AM CT, as I can only stream if my family is asleep or in otherwords; when the only device accessing the internet is my own PC.

If AT&T would let us fine tune and configure our own gateways properly this wouldn't be a problem for me.

Interesting, I had NO idea those were released as standalone. Do you have a pic of the original disk? (I know it came from a shareware distributor rather than Sierra - would be neat to see anyway.)

Looks like the "Media Vision" sponsorship banner is missing from Ms. Astro Chicken - I always wondered what was up with that. Sierra didn't seem to have any other relationship with them...

twitch.tv/oldskooljay - playing the obscure, forgotten & weird - most Tuesdays & Thursdays @ 6:30 PM PDT. Bonus streams elsewhen!

No, sorry. I lost all my Shareware disks a long time back. I might have thrown or given them away. I was young... 😉

I could also imagine that Sierra gave out those games as freebies on trade shows. Maybe there are original Sierra Astro Chicken disks out there...?

Aardvark for the Atari 2600

https://youtu.be/zMWKpJEcZVw

Currently watching this.. you say this is a new game for an old system but I am almost 100% sure I had Aardvark on the 800XL in the 80s was it never ported to the 2600?

EDIT: Apparently my memory is correct but this 2600 version looks better than the old 800XL version in many ways so I guess it is a new port from another source?

This is written from scratch by Oscar Toledo, aka nanochess (https://nanochess.org/). He took the arcade or 800XL version as inspiration. However it is truly written from scratch, and Thomas Jentzsch and Nathan Strum supplied artwork and music for the game. The new homebrew conversions are really, really good, since development tools and knowledge of the platform has gotten so much better in the past decades.

It is indeed a masterpiece compared to the original 800XL version, I hope they port it to that as well.

I mean who made that awesome retro backdrop video in there, it is very well made, more authentic than most of these references these days (in vaporwave and what not). But yeah I was joking in that I know the chances of this being made by a member here are not exactly very high. Although you never know 😜 But mostly just wanted to share it here for your viewing pleasure.

A quick video about a late Pong clone: the 1983 Bentley Compuvision. Simple and solid design, well made and well...does what it is supposed to do fairly well:
