Halal markets are specialty stores that tend to cater to Canadian residents from south Asia. There's more variety of south Asian food and it tends to be fresher. I live in the middle of nowhere, so getting fresh pita bread at one is pretty much off the cards.

Ahhh.... You meant halal-markets. Halal is actually the way muslims slaughter animals. It is pretty simple. Slice the throat, and say a prayer.
Here in Denmark, there are strict rules regarding food and germs/bacterias. And halal slaughtering are only legal here, if the animal was sedated.
Nearly 90% of all chickens in Denmark are actually halal slaughtered. They are dragged through water with electricity.
Then there are a muslim priest sitting all day, doing nothing but praying over the sedated chickens, and finally they are being run through
a machine that cuts the heads off. Just imagine. Being paid, to pray all day long. Must be the easiest job in the world.

Actually... Taking the prayer part away. Then that is how pigs are slaughtered here in Denmark. They are sedated by gassing them.
Then they have the throat slid, and a knife with electricity jammed into their heart.
The problem with halal, is the countries in were they do not sedate the animal. They just let the animal bleed out, while they pray.
At least halal meat slaughtered in Denmark, are like 2/3 of the price that you normally pay. Yet the butcher shops are few and far apart.

I don't care, if I know that it was halal slaughtered in Denmark. Cheaper and higher quality.

No... seriously:

http://www.pita.net/Default.asp?PN=%27Bakery%27

Apparently you'd have to by 35-45 pounds of pita bread in order for them to ship it to your door.

Alternatively you could just buy a couple of packs of lebanese bread on Amazon and stick them in your freezer. You just put them in the oven (or a ceramic glass stovetop) for a minute before rolling up whatever Middle Eastern stuff you want to put in them.

You can make them at home.....

Absolutely, it's for the most part simple along with a few other restrictions. No alcohol, no pork, no insects, etc. Animal byproducts used in cooking can be an issue, as can cheeses (depending on the school of belief), so this can extend to baked goods. Probably the easiest thing for a Muslim who wishes to eat halal is to be a teetotaling pescatarian.

It is actually funny, that people say that muslims are not alowed to consume alcohol. The word alcohol is not mentioned at all in the quran. You can simply not find it anywere. What is written instead, is the issue regarding fermented grapes and fermented grains. I am not sure about fermented fruits. Not alcohol. What the quran states, is that it advices strongly against the intake of those fermented things. And the only direct prohibition against it, are when you attend the muslim worship in the mosque. Basically speaking. There is no prohibition against fermented honney at all.

The alcohol part, only came to be, after people have discovered that it is alcohol that makes you drunk. Yet... It is not mentioned at all. However. That was after the book was written. I know this is the extremely strict understanding and the conclusion that one come to, if you read the quran literally.

Correct. The prohibition is against intoxicants, although my understanding is that medical necessity takes precedence when intoxication is a side effect of medication.

I ate 3 of these homemade burgers today, for dinner, and 2 big glasses of cola.

Burger dressing and ketchup.
4 pieces of bacon in each burger.
125 gram beef paddy in each burger.
2 leaves of Romaine lettuce in each burger.

Having 4 slices of a medium pizza with pepperoni, pineapple, and jalapeños with 3 pieces of breadsticks, dipping sauce (I have another one stored in my work fridge with the rest of the pizza and breadsticks), and Pepsi 0 sugar.

I am getting old and can not eat so much anymore..... I was only able to eat ten egg's, scrambled in butter and on top of 2 slices of toast. Lots of ketchup. When I was younger, I was able to eat between 12 and 16 egg's in one god.

Meh'.... At least I got my daily bread. 😁

Lots of ways to go. Simple salt and pepper. Thyme. Cheese. Cream instead of milk. Ketchup is something I would expect in a bad greasy spoon.

Just salt and pepper, and scrambled on a pan. Personally I find cheese... How to say polite... Like a muslim look at pork.
However. I really enjoy most fresh milk product's. The only preserved milk product that I like is 38% sour cream on top of spicy food.

Lots of varieties you can try. I find ketchup really overpowers the flavour of the eggs.

Since it's Friday and this is a Catholic place, I had some matjes herring in cream sauce with potatoes. The cream sauce traditionally has apples slices and chopped pickles and onion in it. This is one of those down-home things my dad used to make when I was a kid, so I'm very fond of this dish.

Don't forget the North Africans. When I was in Montreal I hit the halal markets in Petite Maghreb for lamb shanks, merguez and harissa. Good stuff when cooked with cous-cous.
Of course, if you are in Kamloops or Fort McMurray, then yeah, you're kinda boned.
