Hard to argue with that, but I've seen x1900gt agp cards on eBay for 50-60 and those are light years ahead of the 7800gs. They match the x1950pro in specs and clock speeds, it just uses the r580 instead of the rv570. It also compares to the 7950gt vs the 7800gs comparing to the 6800 ultra. I'd say if you can snag one of them you'll be much happier.

Hmm, I have been thinking about trying an ati agp card for a while, I'm not getting any x1900 agp results on eBay right now though. X1950pro agp is available though.

Ah ok, I am getting results for those. It looks like it'll be about $80 Canadian for a 256mb GT or about 30 more for a 512mb pro. I'm about to hit the sack so I'll come back to this tomorrow but I think I'm going to get the pro if it is faster.

Well the X1950 arrived today and it seems to be dead.

The back of the PCB has a number of scratches on it and it does not post in any board I put it in. Ugh.

FINALLY.

The replacement X1950 came today and it's a gigantic upgrade from the FX cards.

Thank you candle_86 for suggesting ATI! My XP oldies rig is much better now.

I'll probably get some pics and benchmarks done over the next few days as I'm stuck at home for now.

Glad you like it, and yes it's night and day.
