but building on non-win32 is totally untested.

Thanks; will eventually give this a try. The last time I compiled Navigator was in ~2001 on a P3-700 Gentoo server; and it took forever 😀

I will check later if it also works with Windows 2000 + BlackWingCat, assuming that BWC gives support to XP/Vista apps. Last working version was 2.49.5, last version with support for XP systems.

If Firefox 60 will work on Vista then it will.

Opera 12.02 Build 1578 on Windows 98SE cannot access vogons.org due to missing security prefs? I have enabled TLS 1.2 yet it cannot open the forums.

That version of Opera doesn't support the ciphers that vogons requires. If you insist on using Opera with vogons you'll need to download the leaked source and add the ciphers or use a proxy.

I'm right now testing the install on Windows 2000 + BlackWingCat. SeaMonkey 2.53.1 requires Windows 7+, not Vista. That was the first trouble. When I tried custom install, and deselected the creation of icons on desktop, folder, quick start, it had a trouble. Then I tried again and decided to go standard install. It installed, but asked me to reboot. The reboot then failed. So I had to force restart it. Let's see how it unfolds. I saved a snapshot before install, so I am safe.

Edit: It did install. But the browser refuses to run no matter the compatiblity setting I choose. So no, the newest SeaMonkey won't work with Win 2k + BlackWingCat, with 2.49.5 being the last supported one.

Did you have the latest BlackwingCat Visual C++ Redists installed? If SeaMonkey is compiled with VS then those would be needed. Going to clean up this thread soon so will give it a shot as well.

I'm not so sure. Where can I get them?

I downloaded SeaMonkey straight from the official web site, I don't know what they used to compile.

FTP status for Chrome and Firefox

I've only ever used FTP in browsers for browsing FTP sites. Always used a seperate program for FTP so not much of a loss for me.

Download them from here:

They won't work with vanilla Windows 2000.

Thanks. Going to be hard to read all that language. I will try to find it out there with an online translator...

Strange. All links I click on this site give me a 403 error forbidden. I can't search any software.

Thanks, but apparently its still under migration - I can't find anything related to C++ redist there.
