Anyone has any experience of trying win9x in a laptop with ati mobility radeon x700?
Do any of the win9x catalyst driver versions support it? Been trying to find out the info online because I would not want to delete winXP from the laptop without being sure that there are win9x drivers for it.

It probably isn't supported by the existing drivers as is, but after adding the device IDs to the driver INF files it will probably work as it did with Xpress200 chipset's integrated video that I was using on my HP NX6125 laptop.

The same laptop happens to have xpress 200p chipset as far as I know. Would you be able to tell me what exactly needs to be added for both xpress 200 and x700 and what is the name of the inf file? I have added device ids in nvidia drivers from newer nvidia drivers before but this is my first time doing same for ATI catalyst.

I added my ID's to [mfg] section in C8.INF file in the Catalyst 6.2 drivers :

"ATI RADEON XPRESS 200" = RS480_ENU, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5955&SUBSYS_308B103C
"ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 " = RS400_ENU, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5A41
"ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 Series" = RS482_ENU, PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_5974

You'll probably have different SUBSYS value, use some system info tool to get exact ID to use.
