I have heard that in France you
go to kindergarten at the age of 3-11
elementary school is 4 years
high school is 3 years

Can anyone confirm that is truth?

wikipedia is still a better source than "I heard"

but if you must, if you can read french: https://www.education.gouv.fr/organisation-de-l-ecole-12311

@italy:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Education_in_Italy
I can't read italian either... but I'm sure you can find a "real source" here somewhere: https://www.miur.gov.it/

I don't quite get what your goal is?

Looks quite similar to the old Soviet system. Kindergarten from 3 to 6 years of age and elementary school from 6 to 11 years of age.

If you are smart you will never leave school. It’s not a race to see who can finish faster because there is no end.
When you leave school you only end up going back for more training.
So why leave ?

if you like working with computers there is no better place than teaching computer education.
You get to work with the best computers and software.

When I was in computer eduction school my friends and I use to compete with each-other to see who could get the most certifications and highest scores. We often shoot for “Instructor” level scores.
There where allot of practice test programs around and we would share with each-other which ones worked best and where more like the
Real tests. So it’s not about learning but remembering what you have been taught.

It’s like the IBM “Watson” A.I.
It basically remembers and makes a the best choice answer.

School should be fun and not hard.
Don’t choose subject that are too hard and take your time learning.
Get a tutor for sure.
They can help you learn how to study.

There is never a time to stop learning.

ok, the person confirmed the article is ok
i find it a bit strange though, that someone way younger forgets whole period of elementary school (5 years)...

i guess the reason is that in france as i understand it, it is organised in lots of 2 year long cycles where you learn the same over and over again.
so if you skip some of those cycles it doesn't really matter i guess

it might also explain why no one from france takes part in the discussion,
they simply don't remember it too 😉

and the fact that you cannot repeat a year in france is somewhat explained by that too

Slightly off topic but closer related to vogon normal topic.
Used to date someone who taught in a rural french primary school.
Waited in the classroom once while she staid behind to finish marking and shocked to find the sole PC was running Windows 98 and this was in 2009!

win98 was a very good os,
just like win7 is now 😉

win7 was released in 2009
we got 2020 now 😉

same situtation as if you saw win7 there now 😉

and shocked to find the sole PC was running Windows 7(2008) and this was in 2019! 😉

the exact mach of the dates is priceless 😉

I think Finland is interesting. They start at 7, don't wear a uniform (that's "interesting" if you're in the UK and have to wear one, but probably not for the rest of the world), don't have exams and yet have some of the best results in the world.
