Ok , here I am , just installed 0.61 on my VectorLinux4.0-box:
-AMD Athlon Thunderbird 900
-Nvidia Geforce 256 DDR
-382MB RAM
-Sounblaster Live! 4.1 (Ensonique 13something...)

When I try to install Discworld (the first one) it spits out : "illegal command : setsound".
So I dived into the README and tried a little tinkering with the dosbox.conf-file , but this didn't bring sound to the game.
Otherwise it runs A-OK(so far)
Anybody have any idea , why "setsound" would be an illegal command?

Note : I'm talking about the original release-cd by Psygnosis (1995)
(including the original booklet/cd-case)

i know its old.

copy from cd the folder "drivers" into the game directory. make it writeable.
then there is drivers/setsound.exe to run.

Thanks Alfred. I am sure some lucky DOS-gamer will appreciate the fix someday.

The soundcode in the first Discworld is buggy. Use the patch if you haven't already.

alfred, thanks to your old post I got it running, but you need to copy the contents of the folder "drivers" on the CD into the game directory not the folder itself
