Have fun, eh? I need to upgrade to a Ryzen and install nVME drives over the 480GB SSD, 1TB SSHD, and 1TB HDD. Might get a board that supports 3 of them and get a 1TB for the OS, and 2TB for the two 1TB drives for more storage.

I was going to, but my B450 Tomahawk died before I could do any gaming. Guess the dead audio was a giveaway that the board was faulty 🙁 have an AsRock x370 board on the way to replace it.

Main pc: Asus ROG 17. R9 5900HX, RTX 3070m, 16gb ddr4 3200, 1tb NVME.
Retro PC: Soyo P4S Dragon, 3gb ddr 266, 120gb Maxtor, Geforce Fx 5950 Ultra, SB Live! 5.1

Ouch. My USB X-Fi card is crap (stutters and crashes). Could be a defect somewhere or driver issues, but my main tower will be upgraded to an X-Fi PCI-e card.

I mainly wanted to pick this up so I could have a fast Windows 7 system without having to hack up the OS for later update/driver support since Microsoft shafted us with the 7th gen+ chips.

Intel shafted you not Microsoft.

I suppose. Microsoft is the one blocking updates from occuring though, so maybe both are complicit.

Got my AsRock x370 SLI Killer A/C installed and all my hardware swapped in. Luckily it had a Ryzen 2000 ready sticker on the box so I didnt have to contact AsRock for a loaner cpu.
Everything works great! Only thing left is to clone my 250gb Samsung over to the new WD 1tb NVME drive and I can downcycle the old 850 Evo to my parents to replace their dog slow 1tb WD hdd.

I bought another DELL Venue 11 Pro tablet with Keyboard.
I keep buying these then selling it because I don’t like the Windows interface.
It is just so cumbersome compared to an iPad.
But I always go back and buy this tablet.

I like this model because it is small and has a good quality keyboard.
Also it has a quad core i5 CPU and 8gb or ram with 265gb SSD.
It performs good and is pretty fast for a small tablet.

You can try Toshiba Portege Z20t https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIw-GWL2X5c it had LTE modem, trackpoint, hdmi and vga (to up to 3 monitors without any monitor boxes), it has 16 GB variant .. im using normal desktop Win10 with classic shell with it Linux and Android x86 are working too. Its not supported but i was able go inside and replate M.2 disk and WAN chips.

Im old goal oriented goatman, i care about facts and freedom, not about egos+prejudices. Hoarding=sickness. If you want respect, gain it by your behavior. I hate stupid SW limits, SW=virtual world, everything should be possible if you have enough raw HW.

Damn that really sucks. I absolutely hate how some people just don't put any thought or care in how they package things. Hopefully you can get your money back

I'll definitely get my money back, even if the seller doesn't cooperate. I'm really just more annoyed because I can't complete my new PC build now.. it is my only day off for the next week, working 84hrs a week.

Ordered a Corsair TX850M for my X58 based Xeon x5675 build (Supermicro X8SAX board, GTX1060 3GB, X-FI Platinum, Aja Kona LH capture card, 3 SSDs, 4TB HDD, Blu-Ray burner). It will replace an aging (12 year old) Antec TP3-650 that I have doubts about . This is mainly my legacy Windows 7 build, but also has Windows 10 and CentOS 8 on it (each on an SSD).

The old PSU was overkill by at least 100W, the new one will be even more so, but I want reliability above all and the 850W version was actually 10$ cheaper than the 650W one .

If there are no visible capacitor issues, it will become a spare. Otherwise, I may recap it some day .

Well, got my Crestron Crestron HD-SCALER-VGA-E with positively ancient 1.01 firmware . It does not support 7202x400 text mode or 320x200 mode . Additionally, since I did not purchase it through a Crestron dealer who would have access to firmware updates, I am SOL (already contacted Crestron about firmware updates and they said I would need to talk to a dealer) . The firmware changelog says 1.02 is initial release and I hav 1.01 .

So much for the spec sheet saying :
Input Resolutions, RGB: 640x480@60/72/75/85Hz, 720x480@60Hz
(480p), 720x576@50Hz (576p), 800x600@56/60/72/75/85Hz,
848x480@60Hz, 1024x768@60/70/75/85Hz, 1280x720@50/60Hz
(720p50/60), 1280x768@60Hz, 1280x800@60Hz, 1280x960@60Hz,
1280x1024@60/75/85Hz, 1360x768@60Hz, 1366x768@60Hz,
1400x1050@60Hz, 1440x900@60Hz, 1600x1200@60Hz,
1680x1050@50/60Hz, 1920x1080@50/60Hz (1080p50/60),
1920x1200@60Hz [5] , plus any other resolution up to 165MHz pixel clock

EDIT : I reached out to Crestron again, mentioning my specific issue and the fact that resellers are closed anyway in my neck of the woods. I had initially only asked about firmware from a hypothetical standpoint (had not received unit yet) .

I finally upgraded my main system monitor. Went from a 30" 2560x1600 IPS to a 4K VA.
https://www.msi.com/Monitor/Optix-MAG321CURV

yes, going from an IPS to a VA is a *slight* "downgrade". But 4K is amazing for Civ6 & WoW (classic).
The curve disappears when you start to actually do anything and it looks amazingly natural in game or video. Webpages, not so much.

Next purchase is a huge glass case for my system. i'll link it when it actually arrives.

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.
