Hello,
I'm new to this forum. I'm looking for some info how to get sound in the older dos games (I mean more like Wolf3D and DOOM, rather than quake). Currently I've got California Access 6300 with sound card ESS1869. Do I need some kind of additional drivers to make sound work properly? For now I'd like to play Blood and DOOM. DOOM just runs without sound, and Blood doesn't run returning an error "no FM chip found" (and I know this is something about the sound card configuration in SETUP.EXE).

For DOS, you need to run ESSCFG.EXE and have the BLASTER variable set correctly (ESSCFG.EXE should do that for you).

Where can I find those files?

Ok, so I've ran the file, and now I have the parameters (IRQ, DMA and stuff), but the parameters aren't really compatible with anything (for example, IRQ is now 9, but almost no games have an option to set it to this value). What should I do now?

You can pass esscfg command-line parameters to configure the card's resources. See Ess 1869f isa sound card.
