I have some Nvidia workstation cards (Quadro4 100 NVS, Quadro4 380 XGL, Quadro FX 500), and I've always used regular ForceWare drivers with them and it has Just Worked™. Which is cool, because I certainly don't need any CAD features and I like using game-optimized drivers that I'm familiar with.

Does this work with ATI products as well? For instance, could I use my trusty Catalyst 8.2 with, say, a FireGL V7100? The release notes for Catalyst drivers don't list FireGL cards as being supported, but the same is true of ForceWare and Quadro cards...

I'm trying to get a sense of how useful ATI's workstation cards are for gaming. Having to deal with custom drivers would be a pain IMO.
