Hello, I am building a 286 (Build log will be coming soon). It was last powered on 2 days ago and does not have a CMOS battery (removed the original one because it was leaking). Today I powerd it on and it kept the time and settings. Can I ask, how is this possible?

It kept the time, but the time did not advance, correct?

The CMOS data can stay powered by the caps on the board for some time. The RTC isn't working without a battery, however, so the time stored in the CMOS is frozen.

Ah, okay. Yes the time did not advance
