I have a problem after following getting game to work in 60 seconds.
I did everything it said and it worked.
But in the game everything is very slow, what can I do to make it faster?
I already tried Ctrl F7 and F8 and Cntrl F11 and F12.

And how can I play it without following getting game to work in 60 seconds? Must I install the game every time I want to play? Must I follow this 60 seconds guide every time I want to play? Isn't there a faster way? because when I installed the game I couldn't find the directory where I installed it in. It was like it was never made. What can I do about it?

PS:I know exactly where I installed it in. Just can't find the files anymore.

Edit dosbox.conf and change the line that says core=normal to core=dynamic. Also change the lines that reads cycles=3000 to something like cycles=20000.

Note: not all games like core=dynamic, and sometimes higher cycles will cause stuttering in sound or video sequences in the game.

The install is only necessary the first time you run the game. Otherwise just do step 2, 3, 4 and 7.

Explain please.

I did what you said, I can go into the game much faster now.
But there is still a problem, I changed the cycles and the core. Now if I go into the game everything is at normal speed (main menu) but when I go acctually play it's still very slow, not as slow as before but still slow, do you think somethings wrong with the game or can I do something about it?

PS:never mind what I said about:I know exactly where I installed it in. Just can't find the files anymore.

Well, what game is you talking about? And what kind of CPU do your computer have?

Guts 'n' Garters in DNA Danger was released in 1997 and uses a 640x480 resolution. I don't think an AMD 1800+ XP is good enough to do the amount of cycles required to have a smooth gaming experience.

Edit dosbox.conf and set frameskip=1 (or 2).

If your game has options for number of colours on the screen, screen resolution, etc, see if you can reduce those.

My computer can't handle Guts n garters?
It can handle games like Far cry, Half life 2, F.E.A.R., doom 3, Quake 4, Elder scrolls Oblivion,Battlefield 2, but it can't handle a game from the year 1997.
That's actually really weird.

And I tried setting frameskip=0 to 1 or 2.
But almost nothing changed, still too slow.

And the game doesn't have a option where you can change colours or screen resolution.

Does this mean I can only play this game VERY SLOW??

Or is there still something else I can do?

Buy Virtual PC or VWware Workstation. Install either one, and then install real MS-DOS (or FreeDOS) inside the virtual PC.

Or - create a dual-boot configuration on your PC so you can boot into either Windows XP or real MS-DOS.

Or - buy a cheap, cheap, old, used, dusty PC and install MS-DOS on that.

Not really. Emulating hardware is a very resource-demanding process.

ok i get it now, so there is nothing else I can do about this except buying that stuff Minimax said.

There is still one thing I don't get.

Ik have other games that were made in the nineties and they all work just fine WITHOUT using DOSbox.

That is really weird.

PS:thanx for all the help

How do you Save actually?

I've searched everywhere on how to save and load your game, I just can't find it.

how do you do it? You can do that in the game too but I can't find out how to do that either.

You do it in the same way as you do it on a real PC.
