Hi all !

Just to let you know that we made for the french website JeGeek a test and an archive with some sharewares and a DOS menu from PhilsComputerLab to play with the famous little HP T5710 !

Have fun (if you can read it, sorry 😉 )

Cool! Thanks for sharing! 😎

I've got a similar HP Thin Client, by the way.
Very nice for Windows 98/Me, if upgraded with both a CF-IDE adapter and a CF card that can handle DMA.

Though the ATI Rage has little memory, it's okay for 640x480 resolutions in lower colour depths.
I was running some lightweight DirectX 3-7 games on that, for example. And the ATI "Dawning" demo.

PS: Other interesting computers, albeit in Hi-Fi design.. Surfstation JNT and T-Online S-100. 😉

Great article but slooooow hosting.

I like the step-by-step guide to how to get a USB stick with DOS working. If you're familar with retro stuff it's dead easy, but it's a big hurdle for people just starting.

One comment though: at the beginning you say: "Et ce modèle est très intéressant pour nous, car c’est un des rares modèles de cette puce à posséder une carte son compatible Sound Blaster intégrée !". Sounds good, but in Phil's video that you link to, he says he's unable to get DOS legacy SB support working, which is why he needs the extra ESS Solo card in there. If you have been able to get DOS legacy audio working, that would be amazing and definitely a highlight of that second article, if not I'd be careful with getting people's hopes up. Either way I'd say the sentence needs a qualification relating to what Phil says.

Because we worked together with Jazefox to create this tool :
VIASBCFG - VIA SBPro configuration tool for VIA VT8231 & VT82C686/A/B chipsets (v0.12d)

And now, it works on every using this VIA southbridge 😉
