I have this old XP machine, a Dell XPS 400. A lot of older games seem to be running fine but there's plenty of other's that doesn't run well at all even though my specs should be fine for those games.
Tony Hawk's Underground 2 for example, I'm getting major spikes of stutter every time I do tricks.

Half Life 2 runs at around 30-50fps at 1024x728 on high which makes no sense at all.
Specs:
Hard Drives are a Seagate ST380819AS and a Western Digital WD2500AAKX-193CA0.
I had a crappy 300w power supply but about an hour ago I upgraded to a 600w, didn't change anything. Is there a setting anywhere in Windows XP or the bios that I'm missing? I wonder why it's running so poorly on some games. Could my hard drives cause this issue? I don't know what's up.
