Ive got an old win95 pentium 150 that I want to play x-wing and tie fighter on ..
ive never bought anything from GOG..
So can someone help before I waste money needlessly.. ive done quite a search on here and cannot find a definitive answer .. yes im aware its probably an annoying question for those who already know .. but ..
.. will the gog versions of these work on my old hardware.

You could just buy it and download original ISO from somewhere. Problem solved.

nope, it will not work from GOG, you need a "modern" machine for that.
I have successfully copied over the game files from a GoG installation to my real 486. I just ignore all the files with lower case characters, long names and obvious modern Windows files. It has worked great for a few games like Master of Magic, Wing Commander 1, pinball illusions, etc. I don't see why it wouldn't also work for Tie Fighter
