What happens when you write or read a PCI card configuration space BAR that doesn't exist or isn't used for the card? Say it doesn't have any BARs. Or only 1 out of 6 BARs. What happens when you write the second BAR? Or read it?

For example, the last BAR on a IDE controller's PCI configuration space?
