So I helped a friend out and got my hands on a 386 sx which I've built up for the 4 hours.

Spec's
INTEL 80386SX-16
2048MB ram
TRIDENT TVGA8900C 256K
Soundblaster 32 with 2mb SIMM expansion
Super I/O card unknown brand
Intel 10BaseT nic
510MB cf
1.44 and 1.2 floppy drives
Dvd-rom connected to sb32 ide port

If anyone can help identify the board I'd appreciate it aswell

It should be roughly on par with a 286-12 in terms of 16-bit speed. You get to run 386 code with it though, so even better. Run the AWE32 in MT-32 mode and enjoy some Monkey Island 😀

I can't identify the motherboard but that looks like an AT chipset/motherboard to me.

I don't see any 30 pin sipp or simm connectors on the mobo so you may reqire a 16 bit isa memory card of some sort. It'd make a good Dos/GeoWorks system as is though.

There's a glitch in the matrix.

Apparently 32-bit is dead and nobody likes P4s.
Of course, as always, I'm open to correction...😉

Nope no sipp or simms, I'll look into 16bit expansion cards.

For this I was thinking the external header is a 6v so would sticking two coil cells together do the trick, it has no internal battery it was always external.

GM71C1000-80 is 1mbit memory is it not? Given the number of chips installed, shouldn't you have 4MB?

Landmark compares the system to a 23mhz AT and PC player got 1.2 in slow, fast won't start, Doom averages to 8.7 fps. Alot if tests won't run because my Trident 8900c appearantly isn't vesa compliant

8.7fps in doom on a 386SX-16? Were you running it at matchbox size? Sounds impossible for default view size settings.

Phil's did bench Doom slow, small view window, lowest settings.

I wish people would stop using this, it's so utterly meaningless..
