Hello all, I'm having problems getting Gabriel Knight 2 to work under DOSBox.

I have successfully installed the game after finding the -t cdrom mount option. I keep the CD mounted as one drive and the harddrive installation point as another. I run the game, as instructed, from the HD mount point, but I get a terrible hissing inside the game instead of any music or sound effects.

I have only one option to choose from, sound-wise, in the audio configuration section of install.exe (sound blaster).

I have seen the DVD installer, but I cannot use that as I am running this under DOSBox for Mac.

Anyone run into this?

Thanks ahead of time,
Minipulator

How many cycles do you have set? I'm thinking maybe its running too slow for it to function correctly. Other than that I've not experienced this issue.

Actually, I have it set to around 5k or 5.5k. Any higher and the audio, distorted though it is, gets choppy.

My situation has changed. I am now back to using Windows. I shall try the magic hd installer and see what happens.

Thanks for the response

Somewhat non-DosBox related, but there are now XP patches for both Gabriel Knight I: Sins of the Fathers and Gabriel Knight II: The Beast Within. You must have the original installation CDROMs for these to work.

Gabriel Knight XP Installer:

Gabriel Knight 2 HD/DVD Installer:
