EBay, of course. Shipping from UK to the US was more than the actual item cost, the item was little less than $7. This particular game is rather uncommon but it does not look like there are many people interested in it, so the prices stay reasonable.
Just tried to analyze the differences between editions. In the original edition there are just seven files in the root of CD and RESOURCE folder. That folder is identical to the one on "Player's Choice" edition. Some of the files can be found in SPHERE directory of "PC" -- CD.ROM, MPSCOPY.EXE, UNRIP.WAV. One more file, INSTALL.EXE, is identical to the one posted in that other thread mentioned a few posts above. README.TXT is slightly longer and mentions the fact that the original installed does not autodectect sound. MPSLABS.001 is not on "PC" disk, appears to be modified ZIP file with most files present in SPHERE folder on "PC." MPSLABS.IDX is that file index, also not on "PC" disk. The last difference is the disk label -- the original edition has "UNTITLED" 🤣

I have tried the method described here but am having difficulties with the install. I am using DosBox 0.65 and the 'player's choice' CD. The menu asks the letter of the floppy drive from which to install. I chose 'other' and tried a number of different directories, all of which prompt me with this message: "Please insert disk #1 in drive '*' and press ENTER." Doing so accomplishes nothing. I noticed somebody else had this issue on one of the myriad other Dragonsphere threads, but couldn't find if it had been resolved. I would appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Ditto. I have the same problem. I am using a CD and it is looking for disks apparently. I actually got this game running on my old system, but cannot figure out HOW I got it working.

Update. My CD version says ROMZON on the cover art, not "Player's edition." It seems to have the same problems as the "Player's edition" but when you use the sticky posted method to install you get the "insert disk" error referred to by the previous poster.

I have been able to manually copy the files and get the game to go as far as looking for the config.dra but it says "cannot open config.dra" and crashes back to DOSBOX.

I am having the same issue, following instructions from above post and being asked for the disk still. If this has been solved please direct this newb and if not Any Help would be appretiated.

The instructions seem to be for manually copying files. What problem do you encounter when just using the game's install program normally? If you get an error something like "need 0 bytes but have 0 free", see this thread about a workaround for the issue that occurs with some MicroProse install programs: "...needs 0 bytes", so won't install?
