I'm trying to run chess maniac 5 billion and 1 on my windows xp machine. The dosbox compatability list states that I should be using version .58, but the game works better with .65. Even so, the game isn't working. When I try to use .58, the game freezes when I try to play "bawdy" mode. It shows the clock at the bottom, and has a colorful blur above that, and the rest is black. When I try to run it on .65, everything works, except I can't see the pieces in bawdy mode. I can hear sound in both versions, though not in bawdy mode with .58. I can hear a voice telling me to move a piece with .65. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem? I can provide my system information if neccessary.
