Those two are linked though, more performance and you can set graphic quality higher. The resolution of the RTX 3080 could be increased quite a bit and still run as well as the GTX 1070.
Yes, I agree on that. I think we can finish the discussion here with no clear winner like the moderator said in a previous post and we now enter in a subjective opinion. For me, the GTX 1070 is enough, considering price vs benefit and that I cannot differentiate the graphics quality between the RTX 3080 and GTX 1070. For others their mileage may vary. But I still do NOT agree with the prices being practiced by both NVIDIA and AMD on these cards and I still think that we should do what I talked about in previous pages to bring these prices down.
So to answer the question in this thread: "Is anyone excited for the NVIDIA 3000 series cards"? My answer is a clear and loud "No".
BTW, ZellSF, if you are still interested, when my friend is back from work, I'll send to you via PM (since the discussion related to this thread is already over in my opinion) his videos with his GTX 1070 so you can check. He has FS 2020 videos as well. Then you can check the quality of the stuff that is being used/sold here in Brazil with these prices.
EDIT: Some people really need to understand that price is one of the key factors to consider when answering the question of this topic. The price is relevant. Not just performance, graphics quality and technology. If anyone felt annoyed by that, I cannot say anything more than "sorry", but I am a person of strong opinions and principles. I do not go where everyones goes, so... 🤷🏻♂️
