Bought this ISA card.

Was advertised as PS/2 ISA adaptor. Obviously the connector is not a mini-DIN PS/2.

My second guess was that this is a bus mouse interface InPort card. However, that one use still a different connector (non-round pins).

Any idea what I got?

Some scanner interface, probably Logitech Scanman 256.

Oh I had one of those. (Actually a Scanman 2000). I got it because I wanted to scan books, which is difficult to do on a flatbed scanner because of the curvature of the pages. I was hoping a handheld scanner would be better, but it wasn't.

What do people use for scanning books?

Is this too much voodoo?

I saw a professional setup used for archiving very old books and it was something like this:

The one I saw had a regular DSLR camera mounted on top. It also had glass panels to make the pages flat.

Using regular camera mounted on tripod and even lighting also gives good results.

I haven't scanned any books, but the Canon CanoScan 5600F can scan things that aren't flat. I'll be using one to scan graphics cards until I get the head extender for my camera tripod.
