Hi,
I'm trying in various ways to get the WoX Millenium Edition that I recently purchased to work either in WinXP SP2 or Win98SE.
My best luck until now was using DosBox's CD drive emulation command (mount F: F:\ -t cdrom -usecd 0 -ioctl "/" -aspi).
It isn't perfect on XP with the -ioctl ending.. I didn't try -aspi yet, and I didn't have the chance to check it on Win98SE at all,
but anyway, before I do all these checkings, I really want to have some sort of knowledge about how the Sound & Music works Ideally, meaning.. when are they suppose to be played? Thus I will know when something's wrong and they music (for instance) isn't playing when it should.
Currently, The Video-cuts seem to work fine except minor speed-ups in animation and slight noises in sound.
Either In-game or in-menu I never hear music...
About sound effects, I can't hear footstep sounds (again, don't know if there even is any...), Magic casting or arrow shootings....
I do hear speeches when I encounter a character displayed by an in-game "video-cut", and I can hear a monster get damaged when I hit it (the ooz thing in the beginning of CoX)
Hopefully you can enlighten things up for me...
P.S
I have read that using "cycles=7000" is the best setting for this game in DosBox so this is what i'm using...
Thanks in advance, and sorry for the long post,
Mor.
