Alright, if nothing crosses my path, i'm going to buy two cards: The mysterious Manli GeForce and perhaps a Quadro 2 Pro. (Although i'm not sure about this one yet.)
As soon as the items arrvive, i'll tell you about it.
This is going to be interesting.

I apologize for the inconvenience.
Unfortunately, the package didn't arrive in time.
I guess we'll have to wait a little longer.
I hope you don't mind the delay.
I'm sorry.

I have great new everyone!

The card finally arrived!
And low and behold, the card identified itself as a GeForce FX 5700! (Not LE or XT)
At least that's what GPU-Z is saying.
I'm planning on doing some benchmarks and playing some games.
Any suggestions what games I could try? I don't own any retro games, as i'm more of a hardware collector.
Perhaps you can suggest me some retro games, I can download for free.
However, before i'm playing some games, I have to get a better system.
Unfortunately my Asrock 4CoreDual-VSTA just decided to die, therefore i'm looking into trying a different motherboard.
Right now i'm using a MSI K8MM3-V with a Sempron 64 3000+. Even with maxed out RAM this system is very slow.
Should I keep the K8MM3-V and get a better CPU and a SSD?
Thanks

P.S. Sorry for the terrible picture quality. I've should've saved it as png.

How about trying Win98SE rather than XP? The GeForce FX cards don't run DirectX9 well, but they are the last cards that support 8bit palleted textures which some old games require. That CPU and GPU paired with an Sound Blaster Live, SB Audigy, or Aureal Vortex 2.0 would be a powerhouse of a WIn98 system.

There's hoping it is right. It is certainly wrong with the bandwidth figure. Better to simply use driver control panel and push the memory farther when you are at it.

Strange, I compared mine on Techpowerup and everything seems to match up just fine.
However on http://vgamuseum.info/index.php/cards/item/26 … geforce-fx-5700, I could spot some differences with the memory bandwidth.
Instead of 16GB/s it says 8.8GB/s.
What should the memory bandwidth on the FX 5700 actually supposed to be?
Perhaps it's a driver issue.
For the drivers i'm currently using Nvidia ForceWare 93.71 for XP and 2k, which I downloaded from philscomputerlab.com
Any recommendations, for a better driver, that I could try instead?
What else software do I require for the FX 5700?
On the control panel, I couldn't find any options to push the memory farther.

Main thing being that not many FX 5700 existed that had 256MB ram and 500Mhz memory clocks. That card isn't Asus or EVGA. After that there is only XFX left as far as I know that I know of that would match memory and clock specs int that GPU-Z.

If you hadn't mentioned it, I would've never noticed it. You are right with the Ram speed. The Ram is pretty slow for a 256mb FX 5700. That is indeed quite unusual. Thanks for telling me. Sadly, there's no FCC id markings on the PCB. The only markings on this card are M103D 94v-0 1704. 94v-0 is just the safety certifications and 1704 likely tells us the maufacture date. However, I'm unsure, what M103D indicates. Other then that, the card is just as blank, as my knowledge about graphics cards. Perhaps this is some kind of OEM product?

First: Thank you darry! I'm looking forward, into reading the entire thread.
Second: You're right. That makes sense Putas. I didn't think about that.
What should the specs of a 256MB FX 5700 normally look like?
What causes GPU-Z to display a memory bandwidth of 16.0 GB/s?
Is this a software or hardware related issue?
Besides installing Windows 98 SE, what should I try next?
Should I remove the heatsink to see what markings are on the NV36 chip?

I always remove them to change the paste, you could check it out then.

I've now pulled off the heatsink and made a rather sad discovery.
Someone already replaced the thermal compound and didn't do a great job at reassembling/removing the heatsink.
Every corner of the chip is chipped. But as long as it works, it doesn't bother me.
The markings on the chip are: 0FG9T00B30 0415A1 and on the bottom, it reads F9 GEFORCE FX 5700.
Above the chip, it looks like we're having a part number.
