What a great forum this is.

Rastan is one of the most engaging games I've ever played on a PC. I have found it but I'm having trouble running it under DOSBox 0.65 on my Windows XP (Pentium 3.2 GHz) machine.

It actually loads up fine and gameplay is all right, but the colors are completely wrong. It looks something like a negative image of the game. Also, sound comes only from the PC speaker. I don't recall whether the PC version I played in the early 90's was the same in this regard.

Any ideas how I can fix the colors?

I have just tested it. It works perfectly.

Just run it with r parameter to reconfigure everything:

E.g.

Z:\>mount c c:\oldgames
Z:\>c:
C:\>cd rastan
C:\RASTAN\>rastan r

Intel i7 5960X

8 GB GeForce GTX 1070 G1 Gaming (Gigabyte)

Thanks for your very clear and helpful answer! It works perfectly now. That "r" was the key.
