I've just uploaded a comparison video to Youtube for anyone interested... Alesis S4+ versus the SC-55, using Prince of Persia 2.

I'm intending to do another comparison using LSL6 when I get around to it... I might take requests for others but no, I'm not doing Doom 😉

It don't mean a thing if it ain't got 5-pin DIN.

I'd never tried Alesis synths for GM games but one model was just awesome for me and I was very interested to listen it in games. It's a keyboard synth Alesis Quadrasynth S4. It has divine sound! Listen its demo-song:

But 😀 it doesn't mean that this synth is good for GM games. It is necessary to try it with PC then make some conclusions. If I'll have enough time I'll try it for sure.

Yes that's the one I'm comparing. The LSL6 video will show it off well as it sounds amazing & better than the Sc-55 on most of the music in that game.

That demo song still brings back fond memories for me, a quarter of a century later... 😊

This is great. I've never heard this synth put through its paces for gaming.

I'm 100% supportive of you not taking Doom requests - but I do have a similar, cheeky request if you're inclined to install it. Descent 1, Level 1 is my benchmark track for comparing the SC-55 to other modules. I'd be really keen to hear the S4 take it on.

I'm curious on how it compares to the Alesis Nanosynth module.

Alesis Nanosynth = Alesis QSR waveforms, but has GM programs instead of the QS programs (although they can be loaded).

Alesis S4 Plus = older gen (1993 v 1997).

QSR demo: https://www.synthmania.com/qs8.htm (of course, these aren't the Nano's patches)
S4 Plus demo: https://synthmania.com/2020/05/13/alesis-quad … nth-plus-piano/ (This keyboard doesn't have the S4 Plus's GM bank, though).

Better gaming demos:

In my searching I saw your videos come up when I looked for the NanoSynth, Salient! How you doing, by the way. 😀 May not have said hi since the QS forums went away.
