Mine is based around a Gigabyte GA-BX6C on a 2.0 MSI slocket.
I run mine with a V3 3000 and just recently added a Matrox M3D to the system

Do you remember which revision of the 6A-BX6C you own?

I got a GA-6BX7 rev 2.4 in a lot not long ago.
It is now confirmed working/booting with a Via C3 1.2ghz 😁

I hope there is no performance hit because of the BIOS not recognising the CPU.

At first i tested with the piii 800mhz it came with it worked fine. Then i put in the Via, and nothing... I was sure i had burned it or something. But I have forgotten to put in the molex for the V5 5500 after changeing cpus, so no video but fans spinning. And pc speaker was plugged in wrong. I must have early dementia or something, but it did work out😅

When I get the slotket I will test the Soyo board also. Any toughts on which board I should use? (if the soyo works)

I thought so, because mine is 1.9B and does not work with Voodoo 3 3000, not even GeForce 2 MX200.

You can mod the board for better AGP compatibility by running a jumper wire from one of the +3.3V pins on the ATX connector to one of the +3.3V pins on the AGP connector, bypassing the underpowered transistors. It's pretty straightforward and only requires two solder points on the back of the pcb.
