I know this is possible on Windows 9x, but can you do it running Win3.11 Enhanced mode? The Win 3.11 AWE64/32 driver does include the AWE control panel to load the soundfonts, but do they work when running general MIDI / MT32 DOS games inside Win 3.11?

Only did this in Win 95, sorry..

Although, I assume you know the "MT-32" soundfont doesn't work for 90 or so% of games.

I do indeed. Really more interested in the GM games

I just checked in Win 3.11, but Windows 3.11 doesn't seem to provide General MIDI services to DOS, and even games that support AWE32 natively just use the ROM it seems to my ears.

On what hardware are you running this? If it is a 486 or faster, then just go with a minimal Windows 95 installation (without the Active Desktop Update).

I just straight up dislike Windows 9x, it's not a question of hardware
