Those adapters show up as HID joysticks, so they work with everything that supports HID devices.

Yep, works fine with Windows 98, I have a couple of them.

Works well with all my original PS1 controllers, I don't have any DualShock 1 controllers to test.

They're a bit flakey when it comes to the PS2 DualShock 2 controllers though, they would only work with 1 out of the 3 I have. The other 2 simply weren't detected or stopped the USB adapters working at all when plugged in.
