I have a Prestine IBM Thinkpad 755 and everything works but the right and left keyboard mouse tabs.
They work if I press on them really hard but not with a regular click.

I assume it might be dirty or damaged from spilt fluid.
Is there anyway to clean this or remove the tabs with out taking out the keyboard ?

Yes, they are dirty. I have had this problem before. Yes, you can clean them, but when I did it I did not dismantle the buttons correctly and ended up breaking part of the locking mechanism. Beware, it's difficult, and I'm still not sure if there's a right way to do it.

It's usually possible... I haven't tried on such an old Thinkpad, but the rule of thumb is: if you pried it from one direction and it broke - then you should have pried it from the other one. Not very helpful advice, is it...
